After a very successful 2015, The Irish Motor Industry is once again on the rise as the passenger car market is up 33% on last years January market. New car registrations for January surged by 10,000 - to nearly 40,000 - and have paved the way for a massive increase in purchases for the year overall. New figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show a 33.5pc lift to 39,812 (from 29,808 in January 2015).
With all brands reporting exceptional growth this year, some have fared better than others. Ford is the top selling car brand in County Tipperary for January and the top selling model in County Tipperary is the Hyundai Tuscon .
County Tipperary January Passenger Car Sales
1 Ford 180
2 Toyota 173
3 Hyundai 119
4 Nissan 113
5 VW 110
With such a vast increase on last year it is good news for customers as manufacturers strive to bring great deals to the table. With a shortage in good quality used cars the demand is growing for new cars due to the introduction of P.C.P. to the marketplace, whereby it is almost as lucrative to own a new car as it is to purchase a 3-4 year old car.
Ivan Barlow of Barlo Motor Group stated that : “At Barlo Motor Group we are seeing a renewed confidence back in the market. 2015 was a good year of continued recovery in the motor industry. PCP finance offers are one of the main contributory factors to the overall success in the market. We are delighted to have three of the top five selling brands in Tipperary."
